Press releases give you instant publicity and boost your online presence and are also a cost-effective way to garner media attention and publicity.

If you're sending in a press release about a soon to be launched website, or a newly formed company, be sure to include a direct contact name, phone number, and email address if possible, so that a reporter can easily find you if he or she has any questions about the information.

  • Develop a clear and concise document
  • Make your information timely and newsworthy
  • Write your information or news angle to target the majority of the publication's audience
  • Make sure your facts are correct and verifiable
  • Keep it objective and unbiased
  • Cut out unnecessary information or boasting

  • Use simple words and sentence structure
  • Include your contact information so that the editor can easily contact you with questions
  • Write it so that it urges readers to want to find out more about your c company or products
